The Nordic Tug 37 is available with or without a flybridge and in two configurations, the twin stateroom layout that has become so popular and the convertible layout, which allows the customer to choose a 2nd head, laundry room or study. With a fuel-efficient Cummins electronically controlled diesel engine, she can reach speeds in excess of 15 knots, yet is economical enough to cruise over 1,000 nautical miles while burning less than 3 gallons per hour. The 37 gives customers an option for a boat with accommodations similar to that of the 42 in a smaller and more economical package.

Designed by Lynn Senour, the originator of the Nordic Tug design, the 37 shares many of the features found in her larger and smaller siblings such as a large ship-style pilothouse, access to the deck from either side, hand-laid fiberglass hull with hard chine and full keel as well as the same attributes of speed and sea keeping qualities. The waterline length of the 37 is actually 39' 10" due to a molded-in swim step that is essentially an extension of the hull giving her greater speed, stability and fuel economy.

Aft Companionway

The staircase on the port side of the galley leads to the primary suite forward and easily wraps its way aft to connect the aft port and starboard guest suites. Northwest Yachts were constructed using vinyl ester resins throughout, not just in the outer layers. Unlike polyester resins, vinyl ester resins can stretch up to 5% before fracturing. The NW45 was constructed using a uni-molding process that builds the boat with only 5 major molded components. The American Tug 435 is a highly capable yacht. Take her anywhere: explore the Inside Passage to Alaska, the California coast south to Mexico; cruise the Great Lakes, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Bahamas, or complete America’s Great Loop.

Designed for cruisers who want to stay out longer, the 435 features a two stateroom/two head configuration. The primary stateroom has a beam-to-beam layout with generous storage and an ensuite head. The guest stateroom has a Pullman queen and an additional ensuite head. The pilothouse offers excellent sight lines, generous spaces, helm chair and passenger seating with access doors to port and starboard. The salon features a large U-shaped galley, entertainment centre, L-shaped settee and room for a floating lounge chair. 

Standard equipment on this boat has been designed with the comfort and safety of a cruising couple in mind, including bow and stern thrusters, an upper deck crane with hydraulic lift and rotation and an upper deck walk-through from the pilothouse in lieu of a vertical ladder.

The R-31 CB (Command Bridge) shares many of the features and qualities of her smaller sisterships but some notable additions to this larger model make her ideal for extended cruising while still being a trailerable trawler. The R-31 is the first Ranger Tug to feature a flybridge equipped with electronic controls at both the upper and lower helm. The flybridge also retracts to allow for trailering the 31’. The builders at Ranger Tugs also equipped the foredeck with seating and a table that can be raised or lowered depending on whether the boat is under way or at anchor or dock for entertaining.
