Hunter 38
US$ 129,950US
The 2009 Hunter 38, Murrelet, is a fine example of this popular Glenn Henderson design. The Hunter 38 is known as easy to sail with performance beyond what one would expect given the spacious interior and convenient roller furling sail plan. She is a 3-owner vessel and has been lovingly maintained. The Iverson canvas enclosure was new in 2023. The rest of the vessel shows light use, and the engine has just 980 hours.
A great performing, easy sailing Glenn Henderson design, the Hunter 38 has spacious and comfortable accommodations with a Webasto forced air diesel heater and air conditioning when on shore power. The efficient L-shaped galley is fully loaded with a front open refrigerator, stand-alone freezer, microwave and Corian countertops. The large aft cabin features a pullman queen bed and ensuite access to the freshwater, electric flush head with separate shower. The v-berth is a generous guest suite with large lockers.
The comfortable cockpit is protected by a Jason Iverson canvas enclosure. Two of the Lewmar winches are powered for easy sail handling. The main sail and genoa are roller furling so there is never an excuse to turn off the engine and sail.
Hunter's famed designer and racer Glenn Henderson designed the Hunter 38 with one focus in mind. "Our goal was to design a boat that was an exceptionally comfortable cruiser, yet offered outstanding performance and easy handling," said Henderson. "The 38 has met -- and exceeds -- expectations."
