Scott & Judy Farleigh purchased their 2003 Jeanneau 43 DS from Dan Krier at Marine Servicenter on Lake Union brand new at the Seattle Boats Afloat Show in 2003. Over the course of their ownership, they have taken eight trips up the inside passage to Alaska, five trips to Barkley Sound, and numerous trips to the San Juans, Gulf Islands, and Desolation Sound – all from Astoria, Oregon, as the Home Port!
While working in Portland, OR, there were numerous fishing excursions and Astoria sailing days. The Farleighs used Sleighride as a waterfront cabin getaway in Astoria. Recently they moved their Jeanneau 43DS to Pleasant Harbor at the southern end of Hood Canal. This week they took a final journey on their beloved boat and ran up Hood Canal overnight in Port Gamble. They then sailed down to Shilshole Bay for a final night aboard.
Today, Dan helped the Farleighs through the locks and back to Lake Union to end a fantastic boating life journey that included eight trips up the inside passage to Alaska. What a way to end a lifetime of boat ownership and enjoy the next chapter of their lives.
