Delphia 40

2006/40 ft/Seattle, WA

US$ 124,500US

The Delphia 40 is a performance cruiser with light and airy accommodations fantastic head room and style. You will not find another similar sized yacht with the build, quality and name brand components that Delphia offers for the same money. The craftsmanship of the shipwrights has been passed down from generation to generation and is evident in every phase of the construction of these yachts. From the lay-up of the hull, all done by hand, to the precision of the carpentry shop, the care and attention of the electrical division, every aspect of the boat had been handled by a team of highly skilled artisans. A couple of notches up from the mass produced production boats of today. Silk is a very lightly used one owner boat!

Built to Germanischer Lloyd specifications, the hull is laid up by hand with unidirectional and biaxial glass, using vinylester resin in the outer layer. The laminate is solid below the waterline and reinforced in high-load areas. Double walled below the waterline for excellent insulation. Above the waterline the laminate includes Airex foam core to save weight. Bulkheads are laminated to the deck and hull to increase stiffness and a ring frame takes up the rig loads through stainless steel tie rods. The overlapping hull to deck joint is bonded and bolted and capped by a solid aluminum toe rail that runs stem to stern.

She has a bright modern comfortable interior with an ideal blend of space and storage. Delphia's will make your tallest friends feel at home with headroom of 6' 7" . Deadlights and 8 opening ports combine for plenty of natural light and excellent ventilation. The cold molded mahogany joiner work and smoothly sliding lockable drawers are a notch above most production boats. The U shaped galley is usable underway and preferred by many over the inline galleys seen in many production boats this size. High quality Isotherm refrigeration is installed. Cabinets provide ample storage. The large dinette converts to a 6 foot double in case there's extra guests visiting. You will find well placed handholds throughout and unlatching a floorboard reveals neatly labeled seacocks, valves, and hoses.

 Galley

Like the kitchen of a fine home, the galley is the heart of a cruising boat. Silk’s galley differs from many modern boats in that it has the U-shaped layout favored by offshore sailors for decades. This is a galley that is usable underway, not just at anchor or while docked. The three burner Eno stove does not appear to have been used! Isotherm refrigeration and freezer are, well huge. There is plenty of storage, counter space, and a double stainless steel sink.
