Marine Servicenter San Diego was honored to be invited by the owner of a newly delivered Jeanneau 349 “Belle” to a fantastic Christening Party at Southwestern Yacht Club!

The small crowd gathered at the tent on the deck of the club where we all grabbed a glass of champagne and then headed down to the dock to help the new owner, Jacques Naviaux, celebrate the arrival of his new baby. The event was filled with fun as the owner had his guests involved with the ceremony by responding to a nicely written sermon-like speech welcoming “Belle” to the Bay and the Pacific Ocean and a lifetime of safe and fun travels.

Not only was their Champaign for the guests and the traditional breaking of the bottle across the bow (using the anchor of course as the target), there was a very timely, yet not planned flyover of a C-15 along with a unique pouring of Pussers Rum over the stem, to the sea, and of course to the new owner! The flyover was serendipitous for Jacques is a Marine Corp vet who flew several missions in the Iraq War amongst other duties – thank you for your Service Jacques!

Congratulations to Jacques Naviaux on the purchase of his new Jeanneau 349 “Belle” from Marine Servicenter San Diego. We wish Jacques many fun and safe voyages aboard his new boat!
