Marine Servicenter San Diego had the pleasure of completing 3 new Jeanneau handovers this past week!

Congratulations to Mike & Joshua King on the purchase of their New Jeanneau 410 SO!

The King’s (father and son) plan to use this extended family boat (grandkids./ kids) for family fun on the Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Josh is moving to San Diego from Minot North Dakota with the Air Force as a special liaison to the Navy – what a great way to celebrate the move to warm Southern California with a new life on the water!

Below are photos of day 1 on the King Family boat with what turned out to be a lot of Navy traffic all around. Perhaps the Navy themselves knew what a special day this was for the King family as well? We wish you several more fun-filled family days aboard your new Jeanneau 410 “King’s Odyssey”!

Congratulations to Jacques Naviaux on the purchase of his New Jeanneau 349 Performance “Limited Edition”!

Today in San Diego we completed the handover of another new Jeanneau 349 performance Limited Edition version to a Southwestern Yacht Club Member who will be club racing and cruising his new boat on the Bay and surrounding waters.

After going through Jacque’s new boat with him from head to toe both inside and out at our sales dock, we went for a sail out in the Bay, tacking upwind with the square top mainsail and performance genoa. We then reached back with the Code 0 sail on furler and square top mainsail doing 8+ knots.

As we approached Shelter Island we rolled the Code 0 up, dropped the square-top main, and did a bit of maneuvering practice at the yellow quarantine buoys near the customs dock. We then approached Jacques slip at Southwestern Yacht Club where he nailed the docking the first time.

We finished an incredible “1st day” with lunch at the Club. We will be back to the Club on Sunday for a special Christening Party and Mexican Fiesta to celebrate Jacque’s new Jeanneau 349 arrival with his friends and family. We look forward to a long-lasting after-sales service relationship with Jacques and wish him many fun-filled days on the water aboard his Jeanneau 349 “Belle”.

Congratulations to Dale & Paige Maxwell on the purchase of their New Jeanneau 440 SO!

Dale & Paige reside in Albuquerque NM and got hooked on sailing in San Diego Bay doing day charters at a local club. When the opportunity presented itself to own their own boat they were all in on a new Jeanneau 440 from Marine Servicenter San Diego. With 2 adult girls, one in college in San Diego and the other graduating high school, the Maxwell’s plan on enjoying life on the water as a family and growing together in the sport of sailing.

When asked how they landed on the unique boat name Dale said it was 2-fold. “Kemosabe” meaning is “trusted companion and loyal friend”. Along with this Dale said he had always told Paige at some point they needed to punch out and cited the lyrics of the famous Lyle Lovett song:

If I had a boat

I’d go out on the ocean

And if I had a pony

I’d ride him on my boat

And we could all together

Go out on the ocean

Me upon my pony on my boat

The mystery masked man was smart

He got himself a Tonto

Cause Tonto did the dirty work for free

But Tonto he was smarter

And one day said Kemosabe

Kiss my ass I bought a boat

I’m going out to sea

We welcome the Maxwell’s to the Jeanneau family and wish them many fun days at sea on “Kemosabe”!
