2002, 2nd Annual Pacific NW Can-Am Jeanneau Rendezvous in Pictures & Words

The second annual Can-Am Jeanneau Rendezvous was held again at Bedwell Harbour in the Canadian Gulf Islands.

This year attendance almost doubled, 33 boats and 102 participants compared to last year's 17 boats and 60 participants. Compare the picture at left to the similar picture (taken in 2001)shown in the announcement "Jeanneau Rendezvous June 21-23, 2002" (see link in the left margin).

The event was organized jointly by Marine Servicenter of Seattle and Anacortes (WA), Fraser Yacht Sales of Vancouver (BC) and Jeanneau America of Annapolis (MD) and was sponsored by:

Seminars were held on Outfitting your Yacht for Cruising Near & Far by Jim Rard, President of Marine Servicenter, Inc. and Technical Talk About Your Jeanneau by Erik Stromberg of Jeanneau America.

The scavenger hunt, that ran simultaneously, was SO SECRETIVE that no pictures were allowed!

The kids had a great time however, while the more seriously inclined took in the information at the seminars.

The evening starts off with the ever popular GREAT DINGHY RACE! All that is required is a dinghy, a blindfold, an able bodied rowing volunteer crew member (the skipper perhaps?) and a navigator with great communication skills, and GET READY FOR SOME LAUGHS!
